These are the proceedings of the 24th Conference of the European Forum of Sign Language Interpreters (efsli) that took place in Athens, Greece, from 10th to 11th September 2016. The conference theme was: “It´s all Greek to me” - Versatility in the sign language interpreting profession.Sign language interpreters are communication specialists who work in a range of different environments and interact with people from very different backgrounds, both Deaf and hearing. Versatility is one of the most highly valued qualities in this profession. In order to achieve this desired flexibility, practitioners need to commit to continued learning across their professional careers. Effective adaptive strategies need to be acquired by interpreters in order to easily and quickly adjust to a changing environment for which we might not be fully prepared. These Proceedings include a selection of papers presented at the conference and give an up-to-date view of the versatility that sign language interpreters need in dealing successfully with whatever comes up in the course of their daily work.
