Detalles

This chapter is a collaboration between a Deaf interpreter of almost 20 years’ experience working as both a Deaf interpreter and a counselor for Deaf people in the mental health field (Pamela Morgan) and a Deaf interpreter researcher (Robert Adam). We examine this experience, highlighting some of the current research, and consider at some of it within a number of theoretical frameworks, particularly those related to information needed by those who are teaching Deaf interpreters to work in healthcare settings. We conclude with recommendations for best practices for Deaf interpreters, particularly those who work in healthcare settings.
